- Remove the bolts (A) connecting the transfer tube [bank 1 (3)] to the EGR valve.
- Remove the transfer tube [bank 1 (3)] and discard the gaskets (1), (2), and (4).CAUTION:
- To avoid possible engine and system damage or performance issues:
- Brush away all dirt and debris from the area prior to opening any fuel, air intake, exhaust, cooling, aftertreatment or other engine system.
- To avoid contamination, any open engine system ports must be closed immediately with clean care caps or an appropriate covering.
- Do not allow any debris to fall into the engine.
- Do not allow any chemical cleaners to enter the engine or any open systems during the cleaning process.
- Do not reuse the gaskets (1), (2), and (4).
- To avoid possible engine and system damage or performance issues:
- Use compressed air to clean around the fittings where the exhaust gas pressure sensor tube connects to the intake manifold.WARNING: When using compressed air for cleaning, to avoid the risk of personal injury from flying debris and dirt:
- Do not exceed 207 kPa (2.111 kg/cm 2 , 30 psi).
- Wear appropriate eye protection and protective clothing including gloves.
NOTE: Apply a suitable penetrating oil to the exhaust gas pressure sensor tube connection at the transfer tube (bank 2). - Remove the bolts (A) securing the exhaust gas pressure sensor tube (1) to the intake manifold.CAUTION: Do not reuse the O-ring.
- Remove the nut (A) connecting the exhaust pressure sensor tube (1) to the transfer tube [bank 2 (2)] and remove the exhaust pressure sensor tube (1).
- Remove the nuts (B) and studs (A) connecting the transfer tube [bank 2 (3)] to the exhaust manifold collector pipe.
- Remove the nuts (D) connecting the transfer tube [bank 2 (3)] to the exhaust manifold.
- Remove the transfer tube [bank 2 (3)] and discard the gaskets (1) and (2).CAUTION: Do not reuse the gaskets (1) and (2).
- Remove studs [C (if necessary)].
