Inspection After Removal

CAUTION: To avoid possible damage to engine emission and aftertreatment system sensors, valves and actuators, unless otherwise indicated:

Do not clean.
Do not submerge in any solvent, fluid or water.
Do not jet wash or steam clean.

Do not clean the EGR valve. If debris is the root cause for the malfunction, the component must be replaced.
Inspect the EGR valve for any damage to the valve, housing, and electrical connections. If damage is found, the EGR valve must be replaced.
NOTE: The EGR valve is not repairable and should not be disassembled.
