Removal and Installation: Removal

CAUTION:

To avoid possible engine and system damage or performance issues:
- Brush away all dirt and debris from the area prior to opening any fuel, air intake, exhaust, cooling, aftertreatment or other engine system.
- To avoid contamination, any open engine system ports must be closed immediately with clean care caps or an appropriate covering.
- Do not allow any debris to fall into the engine.
- Do not allow any chemical cleaners to enter the engine or any open systems during the cleaning process.
Apply penetrating oil to the bolts that mount the EGR bypass tube to the turbocharger housing and to the EGR bypass valve.

Remove the EGR cooler assembly. Refer to Removal and Installation .
Remove the bolts (A) connecting the EGR cooler mounting bracket (1) to the EGR cooler (3).

Remove the EGR cooler mounting straps (2) and remove the EGR cooler mounting bracket (1).

Remove the coolant tubes (2), (5) and (6) from the EGR cooler mounting bracket (1).

CAUTION: Do not reuse the O-rings.
