- It is important that the intake and exhaust system(s) on this engine remain sealed.
- This procedure uses air pressure to help identify leak paths in the intake system. Exhaust leaks will be identified by noise or discoloration caused by escaping hot gases.
NOTE:
Smoke will not pass through some of the aftertreatment components, but air pressure will pass through and will allow leak testing of the aftertreatment. Spray soapy water on aftertreatment joints or listen for escaping air to identify aftertreatment leaks.
