Removal and Installation: Removal

WARNING:
To avoid the danger of being scalded, never drain engine oil when engine is hot.
- Drain engine oil. Refer to Draining .
- Remove engine undercover. Refer to Removal and Installation .
- For Non-XD Models, remove bolts (A) then remove rear diagonal cross member assemblies [1 (LH/RH)].NOTE: RH shown, LH similar.
- For 2WD Non-XD models, remove the following components.
- Remove oil pan (lower) in the following sequence.
- Remove bolts in order as shown, below.
: Engine front
- Insert Tool (A) between oil pan (upper) and oil pan (lower).CAUTION:
- Be careful not to damage the mating surfaces.
- Do not insert a screwdriver. This damages the mating surfaces.
Tool
: KV10111100 (J-37228)
- Slide the Tool by tapping on the side of tool with a suitable tool and remove oil pan (lower).
- Remove bolts in order as shown, below.
- Remove oil strainer (if necessary).
