DTC Diagnosis Procedure

The door lock assembly detects condition of the key cylinder switch and transmits to BCM as the LOCK or UNLOCK signal.

  1. CHECK DOOR KEY CYLINDER SWITCH 

    SYMBOL CONSULT

    1. Select "KEY CYL LK-SW" and "KEY CYL UN-SW" in "Data Monitor" mode of "BCM (DOOR LOCK)".
    2. Check that the function operates normally according to the following conditions:

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES

    Key cylinder switch signal is OK.

    NO

    GO TO 2.

  2. CHECK DOOR KEY CYLINDER SWITCH GROUND HARNESS 
    1. Ignition switch OFF.
    2. Disconnect suspect door lock assembly (key cylinder switch).
    3. With sliding door in the closed position, check continuity between door lock assembly (key cylinder switch) connector and body ground.

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES

    GO TO 3.

    NO

    Repair or replace harness.

  3. CHECK DOOR KEY CYLINDER SWITCH 

    Check continuity between suspect door lock assembly (key cylinder switch) terminals.

    Key is turned to UNLOCK.

    Yes

    Key is turned to LOCK or neutral.

    No

    2 - 3

    Key is turned to LOCK.

    Yes

    Key is turned to UNLOCK or neutral.

    No

    Back door lock assembly

    2 - 3

    Key is turned to UNLOCK.

    Yes

    Key is turned to LOCK or neutral.

    No

    4 - 3

    Key is turned to LOCK.

    Yes

    Key is turned to UNLOCK or neutral.

    No

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES

    GO TO 4.

    NO

    Replace door lock assembly (key cylinder switch). Refer to Removal and Installation (front LH), Removal and Installation (sliding), Removal and Installation (back).

  4. CHECK DOOR KEY CYLINDER HARNESS 
    1. Disconnect BCM connector.
    2. Check continuity between BCM connector and front door lock assembly LH (key cylinder switch) connector.

    3. Check continuity between BCM connector and sliding door lock assembly (key cylinder switch) connector.

    4. Check continuity between BCM connector and back door lock assembly (key cylinder switch) connector.

    5. Check continuity between BCM connector and ground.

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES

    Replace BCM. Refer to Removal and Installation .

    NO

    Repair or replace harness.
