Removal and Installation: Removal

Remove the front wiper drive assembly. Refer to Removal and Installation .
Remove steering member bolt in engine room.

Remove the instrument panel assembly. Refer to Removal and Installation .
Remove knee air bag module LH. Refer to Removal and Installation .
Remove screw (A) and disconnect harness connectors (B) and set fuse box aside.

Remove front door harness grommet (1) (LH/RH).

NOTE: LH shown in illustration, RH similar
Disconnect the harness connector from the front door (LH/RH).
Release and pull harness out from the (body side) outer (2) (LH/RH).
Using a suitable tool, release clips and separate harness connector (A) from A pillar.

Remove tape and disconnect harness connector (A). Refer to Harness Connector (lever locking type).

Remove bolt (A) and separate lower joint (1) from steering column (2).

CAUTION: Place a matching mark on both upper end lower joint and steering column before separating lower joint.
Remove bolts (A) and lower steering column to the floor.

Remove bolts (A) from the heating and cooling unit assembly.

Disconnect all necessary harness connectors.
Remove steering member bolts. Refer to Exploded View .
Remove steering member from vehicle.
CAUTION: Two people are required for removal to prevent damage to steering member.
