CVT: Re0F10D

  1. INSPECT CVT BELT 
    1. Remove the control valve (valve body). Refer to CONTROL VALVE : Removal & Installation .
      NOTE: Before lifting the vehicle:
      • Place the transmission gear selector in Neutral.
      • Leave the driver door unlatched.
    2. Inspect the CVT belt. Refer to Component Inspection .

    Is CVT belt OK?

    YES

    GO TO 2.

    NO

    GO TO 3.

  2. REPLACE CONTROL VALVE 

    Replace control valve (valve body). Refer to CONTROL VALVE : Removal & Installation .

  3. REPLACE TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Once CVT replacement is determined, use borescope J-51951 to record a 15 second or less continuous video of the most severe evidence of belt slip and the VIN on the F.M.V.S.S. certification (VIN) label located on B-pillar.
      NOTE: Attach the video to the Powertrain Call Center CVT Pre-authorization Form prior to calling for authorization. Failure to submit the video will cause denial of request for CVT replacement.
    2. Completely reassemble the transaxle assembly.
    3. Replace the transaxle assembly. Refer to TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY : Unit Removal & Installation (AWD) or TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY : Unit Removal & Installation (FWD).
