PR25DD engine: Removal

  1. Remove the EGR volume control valve. Refer to EGR VALVE : Removal & Installation .
  2. Remove the engine oil gauge.
  3. Remove the high pressure fuel pump insulator. Refer to Exploded View .
  4. Disconnect the harness connectors from the ignition coils.
  5. Remove the ignition coils.
  6. Disconnect the harness retainers from the rocker cover and reposition harness.
  7. Remove bolt and reposition the engine cover bracket. Refer to Exploded View .
  8. Remove the PCV hose and air breather hose from the rocker cover.
  9. Loosen the rocker cover bolts in reverse of the sequence shown.

  10. Remove the rocker cover and rocker cover gasket.
    CAUTION:
    • Do not reuse rocker cover gasket.
    • Do not drop or shock rocker cover.
    • Discard any rocker cover which has been dropped or shocked.
  11. Remove the oil filler cap (if necessary).
  12. Remove the PCV valve (if necessary).
    CAUTION: Do not reuse O-ring.
