FWD models with PR25DD engine: Removal

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
CAUTION: The complete drive belt auto-tensioner must be replaced as a unit, including the pulley.
  1. Recycle the refrigerant. REFRIGERANT : Draining Refer to Draining .
  2. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Removal and Installation .
  3. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Removal and Installation .
  4. Separate the front exhaust tube from the catalyst. Refer to Exploded View .
  5. Remove the torque rod (lower). Refer to Exploded View .
  6. Remove the torque rod (upper). Refer to Exploded View .
  7. Remove high-pressure flexible hose and low-pressure flexible hose. Refer to Exploded View .
  8. Support engine and transaxle assembly using a suitable jack.
    CAUTION: Do not damage oil pan (lower) or transaxle oil pan when supporting engine.
    • Place a piece of wood or equivalent as the supporting surface and secure in a stable condition.
  9. Remove the engine mounting insulator (RH). Refer to Exploded View .
  10. Move engine and transaxle assembly towards front of car.
  11. Remove drive belt auto-tensioner.
