Valve Guide Clearance

  1. Measure diameter of valve stem using suitable tool (B) as shown.

    Standard

    : Refer to Service Data .
  2. Measure inner diameter of valve guide using suitable tool (A).

    Standard

    : Refer to Service Data .
  3. Valve guide clearance = (Valve guide inner diameter) - (Valve stem diameter)

    Standard and Limit

    Refer to Service Data .
  4. If the calculated value exceeds the limit, replace valve and/or valve guide. When valve guide must be replaced. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly .
