CATALYST : Removal & Installation: Installation

  1. Install studs (if removed).
    CAUTION: Do not reuse studs.
  2. Install the catalyst and tighten the nuts to the specified torque in the sequence shown.

    CAUTION: Do not reuse catalyst gasket.

    Catalyst nuts

    : 41.7 N.m (4.3 kg-m, 31 ft-lb)

  3. Installation of the remaining components is in the reverse order of removal.
    CAUTION:
    • Before installing the air fuel ratio (A/F) sensor-1, clean the threads using oxygen sensor thread cleaner tool and apply anti-seize lubricant or equivalent.

      Oxygen sensor thread cleaner

      : -- (J-43897-18)

    • Do not over-tighten the air fuel ratio (A/F) sensor-1. Doing so may cause damage, resulting in a malfunction and the MIL coming on.
