ECM : Removal & Installation: Removal

CAUTION:
- Perform ADDITIONAL SERVICE WHEN REPLACING ECM. Refer to Work Procedure .
- When replacing the ECM, a new ECM must be used. The functions controlled by the ECM do not operate properly if an ECM from another vehicle is used.
- Perform "ELECTRIC INTAKE VALVE TIMING CONTROL LEARNING". Refer to Work Procedure .
- Perform "VALVE TIMING OFFSET DATA CLEAR". Refer to CONSULT Function .
- Perform "VALVE TIMING OFFSET DATA WRITING". Refer to CONSULT Function .
- Remove the air cleaner and air duct. Refer to AIR CLEANER AND AIR DUCT : Removal & Installation .
- Remove the battery. Refer to 12V BATTERY : Removal & Installation .
- Disconnect the harness connectors from the ECM. Refer to Component Description (lever locking type).
- Remove the engine harness retainer bolt (A).
- Release the engine harness retainer clip (at battery tray).
- Remove the ECM bolts from the battery tray.
- Remove the ECM and brackets as an assembly.
- Remove the nuts and ECM from the brackets (if necessary).
