PARKING BRAKE FRONT CABLE : Removal & Installation: Removal

  1. Remove the center console assembly. Refer to Removal and Installation .
  2. Remove the parking brake control. Refer to Removal and Installation .
    NOTE: It is not necessary to remove the parking brake switch from the parking brake control.
  3. Remove the nuts from the front parking brake cable. Refer to Exploded View .
  4. Remove the return spring.
  5. Pull the equalizer (1) on the front parking brake cable (2) in the direction shown and separate the rear parking brake cables (RH/LH) (3) from front parking brake cable.

    CAUTION: To prevent damage to parts, do not bend parking brake cables.
  6. Remove the front parking brake cable.
