Diagnosis Procedure

  1. CHECK COMBINATION METER INPUT SIGNAL

    Perform component function check. Refer to COMPONENT FUNCTION CHECK .

    Does monitor value match fuel gauge reading?

    YES 

    GO TO STEP 2  .

    NO 

    Replace combination meter. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  2. CHECK FUEL LEVEL SENSOR UNIT CIRCUITS

    Check the fuel level sensor circuits. Refer to DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE .

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES 

    GO TO STEP 3  .

    NO 

    Repair or replace harness or connector.

  3. CHECK FUEL LEVEL SENSOR UNIT

    Check the fuel level sensor unit. Refer to COMPONENT INSPECTION .

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES 

    GO TO STEP 4. 

    NO 

    Replace fuel level sensor unit. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  4. CHECK FLOAT INTERFERENCE

    Check that the float arm does not interfere with or binds to other components in the fuel tank.

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES 

    Check intermittent incident. Refer to INTERMITTENT INCIDENT .

    NO 

    Repair or replace malfunctioning parts.
