Intermediate Shaft Installation

- Clean the areas where the intermediate shaft contacts the differential thoroughly with solvent, and dry them with compressed air.NOTE: Do not wash the rubber parts with solvent.
- Install a new set ring (A) into the set ring groove of the intermediate shaft (B).
- Insert the intermediate shaft into the differential correctly.NOTE: Insert the intermediate shaft carefully to prevent damaging the oil seal.
- Install the flange bolt (C), the two dowel bolts (D), the heat shield (E), and the rear warm up three way catalytic converter (rear WU-TWC) bracket (F).
- Install the right front driveshaft (see Front Driveshaft Installation ).
- Install exhaust pipe A (see step 29 under ENGINE INSTALLATION ).
- Refill the transmission with the recommended transmission fluid (see ATF REPLACEMENT ).
- Check the wheel alignment, and adjust it if necessary (see WHEEL ALIGNMENT ).
- Test-drive the vehicle.
