Parking Brake Pedal Replacement

- Remove the driver's dashboard undercover (see DRIVER'S DASHBOARD LOWER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
- Remove the driver's outer dashboard trim (see DRIVER'S OUTER DASHBOARD TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
- Remove the driver's dashboard lower cover (see DRIVER'S DASHBOARD LOWER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
- Remove the left kick panel (see TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - DOOR AREAS ).
- Release the parking brake pedal fully.
- Disconnect the parking brake switch connector (A) from the parking brake switch, and remove the harness clips.
- Remove the parking brake release lever mounting bolt(B).
- Remove the parking brake pedal bracket mounting bolt (C) and nuts (D).
- Remove the parking brake adjusting nut (E) and the cable clip (F).
- Disconnect the parking brake cable from the parking brake pedal (G), and remove the parking brake pedal assembly.
- Remove the parking brake switch and release lever assembly.
- Install the parking brake pedal assembly in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Be careful not to bend or distort the cable.
- Adjust the parking brake (see PARKING BRAKE INSPECTION AND ADJUSTMENT ).
