Passenger's Door Lock Knob Switch Circuit Troubleshooting
- Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
- With the passenger's door lock knob switch in LOCK position, select SECURITY with the HDS, and enter the DATA LIST.
- Check the ON/OFF information of the FRONT PASSENGER'S DOOR LOCK KNOB SW (UNLOCK) in the DATA LIST.
Is the data list value indicated ON?
YES - Go to step 4
NO - Go to step 8
- Disconnect the passenger's door lock actuator/knob switch 10P connector.
- Check the ON/OFF information of the FRONT PASSENGER'S DOOR LOCK KNOB SW (UNLOCK) in the DATA LIST.
Is the data list value indicated OFF?
YES - Faulty passenger's door lock knob switch; replace the front passenger's door latch (see FRONT DOOR LATCH REPLACEMENT ).
NO - Go to step 6
- Disconnect under-dash fuse/relay box connector M (34P).
- Check for continuity between under-dash fuse/relay box connector M (34P) terminal No. 24 and body ground.Fig 1: Checking For Continuity Between Under-Dash Fuse/Relay Box Connector M (34P) Terminal No. 24 And Body Ground

Is there continuity?
YES - Repair a short to ground in the wire.
NO - Faulty MICU; replace the under-dash fuse/relay box:
- For USA model (see USA MODELS ).
- For Canada model (see CANADA MODELS ).
- Disconnect the passenger's door lock actuator/knob switch 10P connector.
- Connect passenger's door lock actuator/knob switch 10P connector terminal No. 8 and body ground with a jumper wire.
- Check the ON/OFF information of the FRONT PASSENGER'S DOOR LOCK KNOB SW (UNLOCK) in the DATA LIST.
Is the data list value indicated ON?
YES - Go to step 11
NO - Go to step 12
- Check for continuity between passenger's door lock actuator/knob switch 10P connector terminal No. 10 and body ground.Fig 3: Checking For Continuity Between Passenger's Door Lock Actuator/Knob Switch 10P Connector Terminal No. 10 And Body Ground

YES - Faulty passenger's door lock knob switch; replace the front passenger's door latch (see FRONT DOOR LATCH REPLACEMENT ).
NO - Repair an open or high resistance in the wire or poor ground (G502).
- Connect under-dash fuse/relay box connector M (34P) terminal No. 24 and body ground with a jumper wire.
- Check the ON/OFF information of the FRONT PASSENGER'S DOOR LOCK KNOB SW (UNLOCK) in the DATA LIST.
Is the data list value indicated ON?
YES - Repair an open or high resistance in the wire.
NO - Faulty MICU; replace the under-dash fuse/relay box:
- For USA model (see USA MODELS ).
- For Canada model (see CANADA MODELS ).
