SRS Unit Replacement: Installation

  1. Install the SRS unit (A) with new TORX bolts (B), then connect the SRS connectors (C) to the SRS unit; push them into position until they click and the lever locks are fully secured. (see SPRING-LOADED LOCK CONNECTOR  ).
    NOTE: Be sure the SRS unit is sitting squarely against its bracket before torquing the TORX bolts.

  2. Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure (see BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION AND RECONNECTION ).
  3. Make sure the SRS unit has the latest software. If it does not have the latest, update the software in the SRS unit (see SRS UNIT UPDATE  ).
  4. Do the OPDS sensor initialization (see OPDS Sensor Initialization  ) and Front Passenger's Weight Sensor Initialization  .
  5. Do the ODS UNIT OPERATION CHECK  .
  6. Confirm proper SRS operation: Turn the ignition switch to ON (II); the SRS indicator should come on for about 6 seconds and then go off.
  7. Reinstall all removed parts.
