DTC 82-15, 82-17, 83-25, 83-27: Internal Failure of the Front Passenger's Weight Sensor (front inner side); Internal Failure of the Front Passenger's Weight Sensor (rear inner side); Internal Failure of the Front Passenger's Weight Sensor (front outer side); Internal Failure of the Front Passenger's Weight Sensor (rear outer side)

NOTE:
- Before doing this troubleshooting procedure, find out if the vehicle was in a collision. If so, verify that all the required components were replaced with new components, of the correct part number, and that they were properly installed. (See COMPONENT REPLACEMENT/INSPECTION AFTER DEPLOYMENT ).
- Before doing this troubleshooting procedure, review SRS PRECAUTIONS AND PROCEDURES and, General Troubleshooting Information (see DTC (DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES) ).
- These SWS DTCs are cleared by turning the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
- Clear the DTCs with the HDS (see CLEAR THE DTC MEMORY ).
- Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), then wait for 10 seconds.
- Check for the DTCs with the HDS (see READING THE DTC
).
Is DTC 82-15, 82-17, 83-25, or 83-27 indicated?
YES - Faulty front passenger's weight sensor; replace the front passenger's seat frame including all four front passenger's weight sensors, then clear the DTC. (See FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
NO - Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Go to TROUBLESHOOTING INTERMITTENT FAILURES . If another DTC is indicated, troubleshoot the DTC.
