Damper Replacement: Removal

  1. Raise and support the vehicle (see LIFT AND SUPPORT POINTS ).
  2. Remove the rear wheel.
  3. With active damper system: Disconnect the damper coil connector (A).
    NOTE: Be careful not to damage or contaminate the damper coil connector.

  4. Remove the flange nut (A) while holding the joint pin (C) with a hex wrench (D), and disconnect the stabilizer link (E) from the lower arm B.

  5. Position a floor jack under the lower arm B. Raise the floor jack until the suspension begins to compress.

  6. Remove the flange bolt (A) from the bottom of the damper.
  7. Remove the flange bolt (C) from the knuckle.
  8. Remove the flange bolt (A) from the top of the damper.

  9. Lower the floor jack gradually, then remove the damper (B) from the vehicle.
