DTC 84: VSA Sensor Neutral Position Not Written

NOTE:
Before you troubleshoot, record all freeze data and any on-board snapshot, and review the general troubleshooting information (see GENERAL TROUBLESHOOTING INFORMATION
).
- Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
- Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Are any DTCs indicated with DTC 84 at the same time?
YES -Troubleshoot any other DTCs first.
NO -Go to step 3.
- Do the VSA sensor neutral position memorization with the HDS (see VSA SENSOR NEUTRAL POSITION MEMORIZATION ).
- Clear the DTC with the HDS.
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), then turn it to ON (II) again.
- Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC 84 indicated?
YES -Replace the steering angle sensor (see STEERING ANGLE SENSOR REPLACEMENT ), then do the VSA sensor neutral position memorization (see VSA SENSOR NEUTRAL POSITION MEMORIZATION ).
NO -Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Refer to intermittent failures troubleshooting (see INTERMITTENT FAILURES ).
