Removal and Installation: Installation

  1. Installation is in the reverse order of removal. Paying attention to the following.
    1. Apply Genuine Silicone RTV Sealant (A), or equivalent, to the upper oil pan. Refer to "RECOMMENDED CHEMICAL PRODUCT AND SEALANT ", and "PRECAUTION FOR LIQUID GASKET ".
      CAUTION: Install two new O-rings in the upper oil pan and a new O-ring in the front cover.

    2. Tighten the oil pan (upper) bolts in the order as shown in the figure.
      • NOTE: Use the bolt sizes specified below:
        M6 x 20 mm (0.79 in): No. 16, 17
        M8 x 25 mm (0.98 in): No. 3, 4, 6, 11, 13, 14, 15
        M8 x 60 mm (2.36 in): No. 5, 7, 8, 9, 10
        M8 x100 mm (3.97 in): No. 1, 2, 12

    3. Apply Genuine Silicone RTV Sealant (A), or equivalent to the lower oil pan. Refer to "RECOMMENDED CHEMICAL PRODUCT AND SEALANT ", and "PRECAUTION FOR LIQUID GASKET "

    4. Tighten the oil pan (lower) bolts in the numerical order shown in the figure below.
      • Wait at least 30 minutes after the oil pans are installed before filling the engine with oil.
