Removal and Installation: Removal
WARNING:
- To avoid the danger of being scalded, never drain the engine oil when the engine is hot.
- Prolonged and repeated contact with used engine oil may cause skin cancer; try to avoid direct skin contact with used oil. If skin contact is made, wash thoroughly with soap or hand cleaner as soon as possible.
- Remove the engine undercover on both sides, using power tool.
- Drain engine oil. Refer to "CHANGING ENGINE OIL ".
- Remove oil level gauge and indicator.
- Remove the front exhaust tube. Refer to "COMPONENT ".
- Remove lower steering joint bolt.
- Remove power steering hose bracket from rear of collector.
- Remove LH and RH drive shafts.
- Remove A/C compressor. Refer to "REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION FOR COMPRESSOR - QR25DE ".
- Support the engine from above and underneath with suitable hoist and floor jack.
- Remove the front suspension member for clearance to remove the oil pan. Refer to "REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ".
- Remove the oil pan (lower) bolts in the order shown.
- Remove the oil pan (lower) using Tool.NOTE: Tap gently to cut sealant around the pan; do not damage the mating surface using Tool.
Tool number : KV10111100 (J-37228)
- Remove the oil pickup screen.
- Remove rear plate cover, and four engine-to transaxle bolts, using power tool.
- Remove the oil pan (upper) bolts in the order shown.
- Remove oil pan (upper) using Tool.NOTE: Tap gently to cut sealant around the oil pan; do not damage the mating surface using Tool.
