Removal and Installation: Removal
WARNING:
To avoid the danger of being scalded, never drain the engine oil when the engine is hot.
- Remove the engine under covers on both sides, using power tool.
- Drain engine oil. Refer to "CHANGING ENGINE OIL ".
- Remove oil level gauge and indicator.
- Remove the front exhaust tube. Refer to "REMOVAL ".
- Remove lower steering joint bolt.
- Remove power steering hose bracket from rear of collector.
- Remove LH and RH drive shafts.
- Remove A/C compressor. Refer to.
- Support the engine from above and underneath with suitable hoist and floor jack.
- Remove the front suspension member for clearance to remove the oil pan. Refer to "REMOVAL ".
- Remove the lower oil pan bolts. Loosen the bolts in the order shown, using power tool.
- Remove the lower oil pan using Tool.NOTE: Tap gently to cut sealant around the pan; do not damage the mating surface using Tool.

- Remove the oil pickup screen.
- Remove rear plate cover, and four engine-to transaxle bolts, using power tool.
- Loosen the upper oil pan bolts in the order shown to remove upper oil pan, using power tool.
- Remove upper oil pan using Tool.NOTE: Tap gently to cut sealant around the pan; do not damage the mating surface using Tool.
