Removal and Installation: Removal

WARNING:
Disconnect the negative and positive battery terminals, then wait at least three minutes.
CAUTION:
- Always work with a helper.
- When taking sunroof unit assembly out, use cloths to protect the seats and trim from damage.
- Do not reuse the front or rear sunroof glass panels which have been removed once.
- Disconnect the negative and positive battery terminals, then wait at least three minutes.
- Remove the headlining, and disconnect harness connectors. Refer to "REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ".
- Remove the glass lid. Refer to "REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ".
- Remove the wind deflector. Refer to "REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ".
- Disconnect sunshade ends from carrier, then remove both front and rear sunshades. Refer to "REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ".
- Disconnect the sunroof motor assembly and sunshade motor assembly harness connectors.
- Remove side bracket nuts and bolts, then remove the side brackets (1).
- Remove the front nuts (A), and the rear nuts (B) from the dual panel sunroof.
- Apply protective tape around the roof panel to protect the surface from damage.
- Cut adhesive.
- Pass piano wire though the adhesive with a wire pierce.
- Tie piano wire on both ends to assist in wire grip.
- Pull piano wire with sawing motion to cut through adhesive, working around entire circumference.
- Using a helper, carefully lift each side and remove sunroof unit assembly from vehicle.
