Inspection Flow

CONFIRM SYMPTOM BY PERFORMING OPERATIONAL CHECK - DISCHARGE AIR
1. Start engine.
2. Press mode switch four times and then press the (defrost) switch. Each position indicator should change shape (on display).
  NOTE: Confirm that the compressor clutch is engaged (sound or visual inspection) and intake door position is at (FRE) when (DEF) or (D/F) is selected.
3. Confirm that discharge air comes out according to the air distribution table. Refer to "DISCHARGE AIR FLOW ".
Can a symptom be duplicated?

Yes: GO TO 3.

No: GO TO 2.
PERFORM COMPLETE OPERATIONAL CHECK
Perform a complete operational check and check for any symptoms. Refer to "OPERATIONAL CHECK ".

Can a symptom be duplicated?

YES: Refer to "SYMPTOM TABLE ".

NO: System OK.
CHECK FOR SERVICE BULLETINS
Check for any service bulletins.

: GO TO 4.
PERFORM FRONT AIR CONTROL SELF-DIAGNOSIS
Perform front air control self-diagnosis. Refer to "FRONT AIR CONTROL SELF - DIAGNOSIS ".

OK or NG

OK: GO TO 5.

NG: Perform power and ground circuit for front air control. Refer to "POWER SUPPLY AND GROUND CIRCUIT FOR FRONT AIR CONTROL AND UNIFIED METER AND A/C AMP .".
PERFORM SELF-DIAGNOSIS STEP - 2
Perform self-diagnosis STEP - 2. Refer to "FUNCTION CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE ".

OK or NG

OK: GO TO 6.

NG: Check appropriate malfunctioning sensor circuit.
PERFORM SELF-DIAGNOSIS STEP - 3
Perform self-diagnosis STEP - 3. Refer to "FUNCTION CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE ".

OK or NG

OK: GO TO 7.

NG: Perform diagnostic procedure for LAN system circuit. Refer to "DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE FOR LAN CIRCUIT ".
PERFORM SELF-DIAGNOSIS STEP - 4
Perform self-diagnosis STEP - 4 to check mode door control. Refer to "FUNCTION CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE ".

OK or NG

OK: GO TO 8.

NG: Check and repair mode door motor linkage. Refer to "MODE DOOR MOTOR ".
CHECK AMBIENT SENSOR CIRCUIT (CAUSE CANNOT BE CONFIRMED BY SELF-DIAGNOSIS)
Perform diagnostic procedure for the ambient sensor circuit. Refer to "AMBIENT SENSOR CIRCUIT ".

OK or NG

OK: GO TO 9.

NG: Repair as necessary.
CHECK IN-VEHICLE SENSOR CIRCUIT
Perform diagnostic procedure for the in-vehicle sensor circuit. Refer to "IN-VEHICLE SENSOR CIRCUIT ".

OK or NG

OK: GO TO 10.

NG: Repair as necessary.
CHECK SUNLOAD SENSOR CIRCUIT
Perform diagnostic procedure for the sunload sensor circuit. Refer to "SUNLOAD SENSOR CIRCUIT ".

OK or NG

OK: GO TO 11.

NG: Repair as necessary.
CHECK INTAKE SENSOR CIRCUIT
Perform diagnostic procedure for the ambient sensor circuit. Refer to "INTAKE SENSOR CIRCUIT ".

OK or NG

OK: GO TO 12.

NG: Repair as necessary.
CHECK AIR MIX DOOR MOTOR PBR CIRCUIT
Perform diagnostic procedure for the air mix door motor circuit. Refer to "AIR MIX DOOR MOTOR CIRCUIT ".

OK or NG

OK: If the symptom still exists, perform a complete operational check. Refer to "OPERATIONAL CHECK ". If no other symptom exists replace unified meter and A/C amp. Refer to "UNIFIED METER AND A/C AMP .".

NG: Repair as necessary.
