Inspection Parking Brake Switch Circuit

  1. CHECK BRAKE INDICATOR 
    1. Turn ignition switch ON.
    2. Apply parking brake.
    3. Release parking brake.

      Brake indicator in combination meter should illuminate when parking brake is applied and turn OFF when released. 

    OK or NG 

    OK: Inspection End.

    NG: GO TO 2.

  2. CHECK PARKING BRAKE SWITCH SIGNAL 
    1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
    2. Disconnect parking brake switch connector.
    3. Turn ignition switch ON.
    4. Check voltage between parking brake switch harness connector M36 terminal 1 and ground.

      1 - Ground: Battery voltage should exist.

    OK or NG 

    OK: Replace parking brake switch.

    NG: GO TO 3.

  3. CHECK PARKING BRAKE SWITCH CIRCUIT 
    1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
    2. Disconnect combination meter connector.
    3. Check continuity between combination meter harness connector M24 (A) terminal 16 and parking brake switch harness connector M36 (B) terminal 1.

      1 - 16: Continuity should exist.

    OK or NG 

    OK: Replace combination meter. Refer to "COMBINATION METER ".

    NG: Repair harness or connector.
