Diagnosis Procedure

  1. CHECK STARTER RELAY SIGNAL
    1. Turn ignition switch ON.
    2. Disconnect IPDM E/R connector.
    3. Check voltage between IPDM E/R vehicle side harness connector terminal and ground.
    TERMINAL VOLTAGE REFERENCE

    IPDM E/R vehicle side harness connector Ground Condition Voltage (Approx.)
    Connector Terminal
    F10 72 Selector lever in "P" and "N" positions Battery voltage
    Selector lever in other positions 0V

    Is the inspection result normal? 

    YES: Check starter relay and starter control relay. Refer to "DIAGNOSIS DESCRIPTION ".

    NO: GO TO 2.

  2. CHECK HARNESS BETWEEN TCM AND IPDM E/R (PART 1)
    1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
    2. Disconnect TCM connector.
    3. Check continuity between TCM vehicle side harness connector terminal and IPDM E/R vehicle side harness connector terminal.
    TERMINAL CONTINUITY REFERENCE

    TCM vehicle side harness connector IPDM E/R vehicle side harness connector Continuity

    F15 (A) 20 F10 (B) 72 Existed

    Is the inspection result normal? 

    YES: GO TO 3.

    NO: Repair or replace damaged parts.

  3. CHECK HARNESS BETWEEN TCM AND IPDM E/R (PART 2)

    Check continuity between TCM vehicle side harness connector terminal and ground.

    TERMINAL CONTINUITY REFERENCE

    TCM vehicle side harness connector Ground Continuity
    Connector Terminal
    F15 20 Not existed

    Is the inspection result normal? 

    YES: GO TO 4.

    NO: Repair or replace damaged parts.

  4. DETECT MALFUNCTIONING ITEMS

    Check TCM connector pin terminals for damage or loose connection with harness connector.

    Is the inspection result normal? 

    YES: Replace TCM. Refer to "EXPLODED VIEW ".

    NO: Repair or replace damaged parts.
