Rear Brake Rotor: Installation

NOTE: The copper washers for the connecting bolt have to be replaced every time the fitting is disconnected.
  1. Clean area around pin bolts and piston boot. DO NOT damage piston boot. Install brake rotor. Install caliper assembly and tighten main pin bolt to specification. Install brake hose to caliper and tighten connecting bolt to specification.
  2. Bleed air from brake system. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM  . Adjust the parking brake. See PARKING BRAKE  under ADJUSTMENTS.
  3. Burnish the brake contact surfaces refinishing or replacing brake rotors, after replacing pads, or if a soft pedal occurs at very low mileage. See BRAKE BURNISHING PROCEDURE  under ADJUSTMENTS.
