Power Brake Unit: Installation

  1. Adjust the length of the input rod. See POWER BRAKE UNIT INPUT & OUTPUT ROD  under ADJUSTMENTS. Tighten the lock nut temporarily and install the booster assembly in the vehicle. Connect the brake pedal to the clevis of the input rod.
  2. Tighten the mounting nut for the brake pedal assembly to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Install the master cylinder on the booster assembly. See MASTER CYLINDER  .
  3. Adjust the height and play of the brake pedal. See BRAKE PEDAL FREE PLAY  and BRAKE PEDAL HEIGHT  under ADJUSTMENTS.
  4. Tighten the lock nut of the input rod to the specified torque. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Bleed air from brake system. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM  .
