4. In N Position, Vehicle Moves

SYMPTOM: 

Vehicle moves forward or backward when selecting N position. 

  1. CHECK PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION (PNP) SWITCH CIRCUIT 

    With CONSULT-II 

    Does "TCM INPUT SIGNALS" in "DATA MONITOR" show damage to park/neutral position (PNP) switch circuit?

    Without CONSULT-II 

    Does self-diagnosis show damage to park/neutral position (PNP) switch circuit?

    Yes or No 

    1. Yes: Check park/neutral position (PNP) switch circuit. Refer to "DTC P0705 PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ".
    2. No: GO TO 2.

  2. CHECK CONTROL LINKAGE 

    Check control cable. Refer to "CONTROL CABLE ".

    OK or NG 

    1. OK: GO TO  4.
    2. NG: GO TO 3.
  3. ADJUST CONTROL CABLE 

    Adjust control cable.

    1. : Refer to "CONTROL CABLE ADJUSTMENT ".

  4. CHECK A/T FLUID LEVEL 

    Check A/T fluid level again.

    OK or NG 

    1. OK: GO TO 5.
    2. NG: Refill ATF.

  5. CHECK A/T FLUID CONDITION 
    1. Remove oil pan.
    2. Check A/T fluid condition.

    OK or NG 

    1. OK: GO TO  7.
    2. NG: GO TO 6.

  6. DETECT MALFUNCTIONING ITEM 
    1. Disassemble A/T.
    2. Check the following items:
    • Forward clutch assembly
    • Overrun clutch assembly
    • Reverse clutch assembly

    OK or NG 

    1. OK: GO TO 7.
    2. NG: Repair or replace damaged parts.
  7. CHECK SYMPTOM 

    Check again.

    OK or NG 

    1. OK: INSPECTION END 
    2. NG: GO TO 8.
  8. CHECK TCM INSPECTION 
    1. Perform TCM input/output signal inspection.
    2. If NG, recheck TCM pin terminals for damage or loose connection with harness connector.

    OK or NG 

    1. OK: INSPECTION END 
    2. NG: Repair or replace damaged parts.
