Removal & Installation

  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS  . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM  . Disconnect driver-side and passenger-side air bag module connectors, side air bag and seat belt pretensioner connectors.
  2. Remove center console. See CENTER CONSOLE  . Disconnect diagnosis sensor unit connector. Remove four hex-head bolts and remove diagnosis sensor unit. See Fig 1 .
  3. To install, reverse removal procedure. Using NEW bolts, install diagnosis sensor unit with arrow and front of vehicle. Tighten bolts in sequence. See Fig 1 . Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Activate air bag system.
