DTC Confirmation Test (Using CONSULT-II)

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Nissan Xterra and 2002 Nissan Frontier. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Start engine and warm to normal operating temperature.
  2. Stop engine and wait at least 5 seconds.
  3. Turn ignition on and select HO2S1 (B1) P1144 or HO2S1 (B2) P1164 of HO2S1 in DTC WORK SUPPORT mode with CONSULT-II.
  4. Touch START on CONSULT-II screen.
  5. Start engine and let it idle for at least 3 minutes.
    NOTE: Never raise engine speed above 3600 RPM after this step. If the engine speed limit is exceeded, return to step  5 .
  6. When the following conditions are met, TESTING will be displayed on CONSULT-II screen. Maintain these conditions continuously until TESTING changes to COMPLETED (it will take 50 seconds or more).

    2.4L Models -

    • ENG SPEED: 1200-3150 RPM.
    • Vehicle speed: less than 62 MPH.
    • B/FUEL SCHDL: 3.5-15.0 msec.

    3.3L Models -

    • ENG SPEED: 1200-3100 RPM.
    • Vehicle speed: less than 62 MPH.
    • B/FUEL SCHDL: 2.8-11.0 msec.

    If TESTING is not displayed after 5 minutes, retry from step  2 .

  7. Press SELF-DIAG RESULTS. If NG is displayed, go to appropriate DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE. If OK is displayed, system is okay at this time.
