DTC Confirmation Test (With CONSULT-II)

- Start engine and warm to normal operating temperature. Select CLSD THL/P SW in DATA MONITOR mode with CONSULT-II.
- CLSD THL/P SW should indicate ON when throttle valve is completely closed and OFF when throttle valve is slightly open. If operation is as specified, go to next step. If operation is not as specified, go to appropriate DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE.
- Select DATA MONITOR mode with CONSULT-II. Drive vehicle for at least 5 consecutive seconds under the following conditions:
- THRTL POS SEN: more than 2.5 volts.
- VHCL SPEED SE: more than 2 MPH.
NOTE: Driving vehicle uphill (increased engine load) will help maintain driving conditions required for this test. - If 1st trip DTC is detected, go to appropriate DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE. If 1st trip DTC is not detected, system is okay at this time.
