Possible Causes

Malfunction is detected when EGRC-BPT valve does not operate properly. Possible causes are:
- Defective EGRC-BPT valve.
- Defective EGR valve.
- Backpressure hose blockage or leak.
- Defective Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor.
- Plugged exhaust.
- Missing orifice in hose between EGRC-BPT valve and EGRC solenoid valve.
- Defective Mass Airflow (MAF) sensor.
- Defective EGRC solenoid valve.
NOTE:
Before proceeding, ensure ambient temperature is more than 41°F (5°C) and battery voltage is more than 11 volts at idle.
