DTC Confirmation Test "A"

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Nissan Xterra and 2002 Nissan Frontier. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Perform DTC Confirmation Test "A" first. If 1st trip DTC cannot be confirmed, turn ignition off and wait at least 10 seconds before performing next DTC confirmation test.
  1. Turn ignition on. Select DATA MONITOR mode with scan tool. Wait at least 6 seconds. If 1st trip DTC is detected, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  . If 1st trip DTC is not detected, go to next step.
  2. Start engine and let it idle for at least 6 seconds. If 1st trip DTC is detected, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  . If 1st trip DTC is not detected, turn ignition off, wait at least 5 seconds and go to DTC CONFIRMATION TEST "B"  .
