DTC P1335: Crankshaft Position Sensor (Ref) - Circuit Malfunction: Description
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Nissan Pathfinder and 2002 Infiniti QX4. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor (REF) is located on the oil pan facing the crankshaft pulley. It detects Top Dead Center (TDC) signal (120° signal). The sensor consists of a permanent magnet core and coil. When the engine is running, the high and low parts of the teeth cause the gap with the sensor to change. The changing gap causes magnetic field near sensor to change. Due to changing magnetic field, voltage from the sensor changes. ECM receives voltage signal and detects TDC signal.
