Diagnostic Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Nissan Pathfinder and 2002 Infiniti QX4. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove fuel level sensor/pump assembly. See FUEL SYSTEM in REMOVAL, OVERHAUL & INSTALLATION article. Access cover is located under rear seat. Measure resistance between fuel level sensor/pump unit harness connector terminals No. 1 and 2, with FTT sensor submerged in heated water. See Fig 1 . Resistance should be within acceptable range shown in illustration. See Figure . If resistance is as specified, go to next step. If resistance is not as specified, replace fuel level sensor/pump unit.
  2. No problem is indicated at this time. Problem may be intermittent. See INTERMITTENTS in TROUBLE SHOOTING - NO CODES article.
