DTC Confirmation Test (Using CONSULT-II)

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Nissan Pathfinder and 2002 Infiniti QX4. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: If DTC confirmation procedure had been previously run, turn ignition off and wait at least 10 seconds before continuing. Before proceeding, ensure ambient temperature is more than 14°F (-10°C) and battery voltage is more than 11 volts at idle.
  1. Start engine and warm to normal operating temperature.
  2. Stop engine and wait at least 5 seconds.
  3. Turn ignition on. On CONSULT-II, in DTC WORK SUPPORT mode, select HO2S 1 (B1) P0133 or HO2S 1 (B2) P0153 of HO2S 1. Touch START on CONSULT-II screen.
  4. Start engine and let it idle for at least 3 minutes.
    NOTE: Never raise engine speed above 3600 RPM after this step. If the engine speed limit is exceeded, return to step  3 .
  5. When the following conditions are met, TESTING will be displayed on CONSULT-II screen. Maintain these conditions continuously until TESTING changes to COMPLETED (it will take 40-50 seconds).
    • ENG SPEED: A/T 1600-3100 RPM. M/T 1800-3100 RPM.
    • Vehicle speed: 50 MPH or more.
    • B/FUEL SCHDL: A/T 5-12 msec M/T 5-15 msec (as displayed on CONSULT-II).

    If TESTING is not displayed after 5 minutes, retry from step  2 .

  6. On CONSULT-II, press SELF-DIAG RESULTS. If NG is displayed, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  . If OK is displayed, system is okay at this time.
