DTC Confirmation Test Malfunction "B" (Using CONSULT-II)

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Nissan Pathfinder and 2002 Infiniti QX4. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Turn ignition on. Start engine and warm to normal operating temperature. If engine will not start, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  . If engine starts, go to next step.
  2. On CONSULT-II, select DATA MONITOR mode. Observe MAS A/F SE B1 voltage while increasing engine speed to 4000 RPM. There should be a linear voltage increase in response to engine speed increase. If voltage is as specified, go to next step. If voltage is not as specified, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  .
  3. Maintain the following conditions for at least 10 consecutive seconds:
    • Engine speed at 2000 RPM or more.
    • Throttle position angle of 3 volts or more (as observe on CONSULT-II).
    • A/T in drive position or M/T in appropriate gear to drive vehicle uphill maintaining increased engine load for specified time period.
  4. If 1st trip DTC is detected, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  . If 1st trip DTC is not detected, system is okay at this time.
