Possible Causes

Malfunction "A" will cause ECM to illuminate MIL and set DTC P0011 when it detects that alignment of intake valve timing control has been mis-registered.
Malfunction "B" will cause ECM to illuminate MIL and set DTC P0021 when it detects a gap between angle of target and phase control angle degree. Possible causes of malfunctions "A" and "B" are:
- Poor, loose, corroded or damaged terminal connections.
- IVT control solenoid valve circuit open or shorted.
- Defective IVT control solenoid valve.
- Defective Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor (REF).
- Defective CKP sensor (POS).
- Defective Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor (PHASE).
