Diagnostic Procedure Malfunction "A"

Turn ignition on. On scan tool select, DATA MONITOR mode. Maintain following conditions for at least 10 consecutive seconds:

Engine speed of 2000 RPM or more.
Coolant temperature of 158°F (70°C) or more.
Automatic transmission in Drive position. Manual transmission in 1st gear.
Test drive vehicle on an uphill section of road that will meet given time specification. Increased engine load will help maintain driving conditions required for this test.

Maintain following conditions for at least 20 consecutive seconds:

Engine running at idle speed.
Coolant temperature between 158-194°F (70-90°C).
Transmission in Park or Neutral position.

If 1st trip DTC is detected, perform testing procedure in P1140 OR P1145 .
