Judgement Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Infiniti QX4, 2001 Nissan Pathfinder, and 2001 Infiniti QX4. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position.
  2. Depress shift lock release button.
  3. Move gearshift lever from "P" to "D" position.
  4. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Do not start engine.
  5. Depress and hold overdrive control switch in OFF position (the O/D OFF indicator light will be on) until directed to release the switch. If O/D OFF indicator light does not come on, see O/D OFF INDICATOR LIGHT  under CIRCUIT TESTS.
  6. Turn ignition switch to OFF position.
  7. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Do not start engine.
  8. Release the overdrive control switch (the O/D OFF indicator light will be off). Wait for more than 2 seconds after ignition switch is turned to ON position.
  9. Move gearshift lever to "2" position.
  10. Depress and release the overdrive control switch (the O/D OFF indicator light will be on).
  11. Depress and hold the overdrive control switch (the O/D OFF indicator light will be off) until directed to release the switch.
  12. Move gearshift lever to "1" position.
  13. Release the overdrive control switch.
  14. Depress and release the overdrive control switch (the O/D OFF indicator light will be on).
  15. Depress and release the overdrive control switch (the O/D OFF indicator light will be off).
  16. Depress and hold the overdrive control switch (the O/D OFF indicator light will be on) until directed to release the switch.
  17. Depress accelerator pedal fully and release.
  18. Release the overdrive control switch (the O/D OFF indicator light will begin to flash on and off). Record O/D OFF indicator light flashes. Where LONG light flash appears in flash sequence (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.) indicates code. See Fig 1-Fig 3 .
