Cruise Test

NOTE:
Drive vehicle for about 10 minutes to warm transmission fluid to operating temperature of 122-176°F (50-80°C).
- Park vehicle on flat surface. Set overdrive switch to ON position. Start engine. Move gearshift lever to "D" position and accelerate vehicle at half-throttle. Vehicle should start from 1st gear.
- Verify all upshifts are occurring at the specified speeds. See SHIFT SPEED SPECIFICATIONS . Accelerate vehicle to lock-up speeds and verify lock-up. Lock-up condition should be maintained for more than 30 seconds.
- When accelerator pedal is released, lock-up is released. Confirm overdrive switch is in ON position and gearshift lever is in "D" position. Accelerate vehicle to 50 MPH at half-throttle. Release accelerator pedal, then quickly depress pedal to floor. Transmission should downshift from 4th to 2nd gear.
- Release accelerator pedal, and verify 2-3 and 3-4 upshifts and shift points. Accelerate vehicle to 60 MPH at half-throttle. Release accelerator pedal and set overdrive switch to OFF position. Verify 4-3 downshift and vehicle deceleration by engine braking.
- Move gearshift lever from "D" to "2" position. Verify 3-2 downshift and vehicle deceleration by engine braking. Move gearshift lever from "2" to "1" position. Verify 2-1 downshift and vehicle deceleration by engine braking.
