Vehicle Speed Sensor

The Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) functions as an back-up device for the revolution sensor. A speed signal from VSS is sent to VSS Meter (MTR) in the speedometer assembly. The VSS MTR then sends this signal to the TCM as an auxiliary revolution speed signal. If revolution sensor malfunctions, TCM will use VSS signal.
