Removal (I35 & Maxima)

  1. Release fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE . Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove cylinder block drain plugs and radiator drain cock, and drain engine coolant. Mark for reassembly and disconnect or remove air duct, blow-by hose, coolant hoses, vacuum and fuel hoses, wires and connectors from intake manifold collector.
  2. Remove ignition coils. Remove intake manifold collector supports and collector. When removing intake manifold collector, loosen end bolts first and then both middle bolts. Remove rear fuel rail bolts, then front fuel rail bolts. Remove fuel rail with injectors installed from intake manifold. Remove fuel injector retaining clip from fuel rail, and push injector from fuel rail.
