Removal (Frontier, Quest & Xterra 3.3L)

  1. Release fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE . Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove cylinder block drain plugs and drain engine coolant from cylinder block. Remove following:
    • Cruise control and accelerator control harness connector.
    • Idle air control valve.
    • Idle Air Control IACA-FICD valve
    • Throttle position sensor and closed throttle position switch assembly.
    • Ground harness.
    • PCV valve and related hoses.
    • Brake booster and fuel pressure regulator vacuum hoses.
    • Intake air ducting.
    • Coolant hoses to throttle body and air relief plug.
    • EVAP canister purge hose.
  2. Remove intake manifold collector. Disconnect injector wire harness connectors. Remove fuel rail and injectors as an assembly. Remove fuel injector retainer from fuel rail, and push injector from fuel rail.
