Removal & Installation
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 9 other vehicles, including the 2002 Nissan Xterra, 2002 Nissan Sentra, 2002 Nissan Quest, 2002 Nissan Pathfinder, and 2002 Nissan Maxima. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Release fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE . Disconnect negative battery cable. On all models except Frontier and Quest, remove maintenance access cover located under or behind rear seat. On Frontier and Quest, remove fuel tank. On all models, disconnect fuel lines and wiring harness connector.
- On Altima, Pathfinder and QX4, remove fuel pump lock ring using Fuel Pump Lock Ring Socket (J38879). On all other models, remove fuel pump assembly mounting bolts. Using care to not spill residual fuel from fuel pump assembly, remove fuel pump from fuel tank. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten fuel pump bolts or fuel pump lock ring to specification.
