Removal And Installation Of Front Oil Seal: Installation

  1. Apply new engine oil to new oil seal and install it flush with front of mounting surface using a suitable tool.
    • Install new oil seal in the direction shown.
      1. Suitable drift 
        1. Outer diameter : 59 mm (2.32 in) 
        2. Inner diameter : 49 mm (1.93 in) 
    CAUTION: Press fit straight and avoid causing burrs or tilting the oil seal.

  2. Install crankshaft pulley and tighten the bolt in two steps.
    • Lubricate thread and seat surface of the bolt with new engine oil.
    • Apply a paint mark for the second step of angle tightening.
      1. Step 1 : 39 - 49 N.m (4.0 - 5.0 kg-m, 29 - 36 ft-lb) 
      2. Step 2 : 60° - 65° degrees clockwise

  3. Remove Tool attached to the mounting bolt hole.
    1. Tool number : KV10117700 (J44716)

  4. Installation of the remaining components is in reverse order of removal.
